Based in Somerset and undertake a range of ecological surveys locally in the South-west and throughout the country.

We have an in-depth understanding of wildlife legislation and planning policy and it is our aim to provide our clients with a quality service, giving practicable ecological advice on the protection of biodiversity, whilst appreciating our client’s goals and objectives. We work closely with clients, providing advice throughout the various stages of a project.

Summer Ecological Assistant


jh ecology is seeking an assistant for the 2018 summer field season to assist with our workload, in particular evening (and dawn) bat surveys.

We would be interested to hear from you if you have a relevant degree or previous field experience.

You must be willing to work antisocial hours as there is frequent evening working, and have an enthusiasm for outdoor work and be interested in pursuing a career in ecology. You should have good observational and recording skills and be available Monday to Thursday evenings.

We are offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to gain practical experience in the ecological consultancy sector.

The survey season will run from May to September, with possible extension.

You must be based locally and have a full UK driving licence and access to a car for business use.
